GAME

Harry Cards
(emse.fr)

"About 10 years ago my students and I created four decks of cards Slytherin, Hufflepuff, etc
Based loosely on Pictionary or password games
My student then had to make up the rules and a game board
So yours would have to as well…
They get quite inventive with dice and squares to land on  where you had to
Draw, mime, sculpt with modeling clay the object, verb, person
Guess the name of the person or thing by the other clues or categories  on the card.
Go back three spaces
Tell a lie and two true things about yourself
Etc

Sometimes for class  I have printed the decks:

http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/gryffindor/gryffindor.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/hufflepuff/hufflepuff.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/slytherin/slytherin.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/ravenclaw/ravenclaw.html

or when I have a computer room then these cards work well as long as only one student can see the card.
And you save ink plus  there is no preparation time for the teacher.

http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/gryffindor/harrypottercards.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/slytherin/slytherincards.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/ravenclaw/ravenclawcards.html
http://www.emse.fr/~yukna/harrypotter/harrycards/hufflepuff/hufflepuffcards.html

The cards are a resource
You use them as you want
For example print a deck
And play Pictionary with them
You know one student goes to the blackboard and can not speak
And only draws pictures till his team says the word written on the card
Usually with a one to three minute time limit

Explanation of a typical card:
(Purple) Top line person place or thing
(Red) Second objects mostly
(Yellow)Third: verb or action
(green)Fourth: hard or difficult
 (Blue)Bottom: all teams play"

The Negro Motorist Green Book "(at times styled The Negro Motorist Green-Book or titled The Negro Traveler's Green Book)
was an annual guidebook for African-American roadtrippers, commonly referred to simply as the Green Book. It was originated and published by New York City mailman Victor H. Green in the United States from 1936 to 1966, during the Jim Crow era, when open and often legally prescribed discrimination against non-whites was widespread. Although pervasive racial discrimination and black poverty limited ownership of cars among African Americans, the emerging black middle class became car owners. In response, Green expanded the coverage in his book from the New York area to much of North America, also founding a travel agency."
